Keyboard bug with ! symbol

Hi, I have an issue with the on-screen keyboard on my 8th generation iPad. Specifically, when I try to input the '!' symbol by swiping on the key with both the comma and '!' symbols, it doesn't work. I've already tried restarting the iPad, and the problem has been there since I bought it. Initially, I thought it might be a software bug, but even after updating to iOS 17, the issue persists. Additionally, I compared it to my friend's 9th generation iPad with the same operating system, and their keyboard works correctly. What can I do to try and fix this problem?
