leaving sleep mode when trying to turn mouse off

When I put my Mac Mini (Sonoma 14.1.1) into sleep mode, I also like to turn off my Bluetooth mouse (Logitech). Sometimes I can turn the mouse off without waking the Mac, but just as often not. It would be nice if I could disable the mouse for a few seconds when entering Sleep mode, so the Mac doesn't re-awaken.

Mac mini, macOS 10.12

Sleep is unnecessary and should be disabled. Shut for long absences/idle overnights (i.e. do not manual-sleep), and for regular operation, use the settings exactly as shown here Wake up a remote Mac mini - Apple Community, should fix.
