Can't find ipad icon in itunes

I'm being pedantic, I know, but note that the iPad icon will only appear once iTunes sees the device. It's not shown all the time. So if your previous installation was using Wi-Fi to connect the iPad to iTunes, you will probably have to set that up again by using a cable connection first.
