Macbook Air Chess is too difficult

The MacBook Chess is really difficult to play, especially at a casual level. I tried playing the computer on its intermediate setting which is 1 second per move, but the computer does not play like an intermediate CPU bot. The intermediate bot on the Macbook Chess is probably playing at a skill level that seems to be higher than 1000 elo. 1000 elo is the skill level for computers that think 1 second per move during human vs computer matches. I think that the computer's strength if calculated would be around 2000-2400 which is really difficult. The computer seems to make no blunders on these settings and it makes it challenging to win a single match. Somehow, version 3.18 is more difficult to beat than its predecessors which had a FAR FAR more accessible difficulty curve. Also, moving the difficulty curve slider makes no difference considering that the computer plays very strong tactically and positionally.

Totally agree. Even on the easiest setting, a casual player would have to play a game perfectly in order to win. The AI will not make a single mistake and will always position itself to trade pieces or pressure the king. My 11 year old was playing since he's trying to learn and it's incredibly frustrating for him because he loses very quickly and rarely even takes a piece beyond a pawn or a trade. I'm ranked average/casual and this is pretty difficult.
