Only move my MacBook Air music library to iCloud

I don't have enough space on my MacBook Air to hold all of my music but I want to keep my library on other devices like my iMac and iPhone. Is it possible to just move my library from my MacBook only? BTW, when I want to play what's on it, it can't find any of my music as it can't find the original file. I don't know what this means.

Storing music library in iCloud Drive Hi, I'm trying to save hard drive space on my iMac. Therefore I moved the music library (using the settings in Apple Music app) to iCloud Drive (I've 2TB storage there). I also use iTunes Match. In theory that move would free up about 70GB of disk space since iCloud Drive stores the files in the cloud as default. In practice, does it work that way? I'm not sure if this was a smart move. I'm still waiting for the library to show upp in iCloud Drive on my Macbook Pro. I guess it takes a lot of time to update and move such a big library. Existing music library (from CD's) larger than iCloud storage limit I am new to Apple Music. I have a large offline music library (lager than my 200GB iCloud storage limit). I currently manually manage the music files I load to my iPhone & iPad. I have a large number of playlists (the music in the playlists is larger than my cloud storage limit). What will happen if I try and sync my music library? Will all of my playlists, & songs (from CD's) be available on all of my devices? If so how does that happen when the storage on the iPhone & iPad is not large enough to fit the library? Thanks Bill

Should music ripped from CDs appear on all my devices in the Music app? I'm busy copying my CD collection into the Music app on my MacBook. But when I open the Music app on my iPhone the albums from my CDs are not listed. Should they be? I assumed music on one device would automatically get synched via iCloud to all devices. If I wanted to synch these albums across all my devices, how would I do this? And then where would the music files live: on my MacBook hard-drive AND on my iCloud storage, or just on my iCloud storage? I'm unsure, but I think I would rather the files take up space on my iCloud, than on my MacBook hard-drive - is there a way to get the files to only live on iCloud? Thanks!
