If the Apple Watch still appears connected to your Apple ID after a factory reset, you may need to unpair it properly. To do this:

1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

2. Go to the "My Watch" tab.

3. Select the watch you want to unpair.

4. Tap the (i) icon next to the watch.

5. Choose "Unpair Apple Watch."

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unpairing process. After this, your friend should be able to set up the Apple Watch without any association to your Apple ID. If the issue persists, consider contacting Apple Support for further assistance.
