Stuck on update progress bar installing to iOS 17, iPhone 12 mini

Hi all,


yesterday I started the update on the iPhone 12 mini (iOS 16.x to 17.2.1) of my wife. The iphone has no storage to install the update from the phone, so I started the update from my Mac.


The installation of the update stucks at the end of the bar (1mm before). I waited over night but nothing is happened.


Hard restart comes to a white display with the info "swipe up to update" and with swiping starts all from the beginning and the installation stocks at the same place. I retry this many times with the same result.


I dont have any ideas for fix this problem. Can u help me?? Thank you!

Result:

  • recovery mode and try to install the update manual (didn't work --> same problem after the update)
  • 1. recovery mode and reset the phone to factory settings
  • 2. Tried to install the iphone with my backup (didn't work, because iOS said that there is no free storage for the backup on this iphone) !?!?!??!
  • 3. so I searched for an alternative software to "itunes". I found the software iMazing (bought the full version) and then select to install the backup without the photos. Finally the backup was installed and my wife was happy --> happy wife happy life.
  • 4. iMazing is really good and very easy to use. I will use it in the future as "itunes". I know on the Mac doesn't exist itunes, but I really loved this software. Advice: before buying the full version software, ask google for coupons. :)
