Handwritten notes in Books app on iPad Pro 11

When I open a workbook in PDF in the Books app and make handwritten notes using the Apple Pencil, the app closes on its own, and the notes are not saved. What could be the problem? Or maybe someone could suggest another app for handwritten filing and notes in pdf documents or books?

Mark up not saving Hi, i have an iPad with an Apple Pencil that I’ve been using since June to mark up PDFs. I find that if i exit the PDF and renter it only half? If the mark up saved, and if I then write on it and leave the PDF, only the new notes will save and the rest will disappear when I re open it from then. Is is this a function of mark up, to not be able to continue to do mark ups and have them saved? Or is it an iCloud thing? Or my iPad thing?

Apple Books PDF notes disappearing I have a PDF book imported in my Apple Book app on iPad. While reading it, I had some highlights and took notes there. Then I clicked "Share PDF" and opened the PDF in another app Nebo. Surprisingly I found that while the highlights are still there, all notes are missing! Then I went back to the Book app and cannot see the notes as well! How can I fix it?
