Touch ID rejecting my fingerprints

iPhone SE, iOS 17.1.2

I am constantly forced to create new fingerprints because they are being rejected way too often. I assume it's partly because my hands are dryer in winter, but using lotion also means the fingerprints won't work. It's as if my fingerprints have worn away. I've wondered if there might be a problem with the phone screen. Sometimes I have to recreate new fingerprints several times/day, then it will work again for a while. Anybody have suggestions? It's less of a problem the rest of the year...but always a potential threat.

It sounds like you're facing persistent issues with your iPhone's Touch ID rejecting your fingerprints, especially during the winter when your hands might be drier. Creating new fingerprints becomes a frequent task, and even moisturizing your hands doesn't seem to resolve the problem as it affects fingerprint recognition.

Considering this, it's plausible that the winter conditions are impacting the accuracy of Touch ID due to changes in your skin texture. However, there might also be other factors at play, such as potential screen issues or sensor calibration problems on the phone.

One suggestion to improve Touch ID recognition could be to create multiple fingerprints for each hand, including different angles and portions of your fingers. This approach might enhance the chances of successful recognition, especially when your skin condition varies. Additionally, ensuring that your fingers are clean and free of any debris or moisture might also help improve accuracy.

If the problem persists despite trying these solutions, it might be worth exploring further with Apple Support or at an authorized service center. They could provide insights into any underlying technical issues and offer more targeted solutions for your iPhone SE.

Have you considered reaching out to Apple Support for assistance with this recurring problem? Their expertise could potentially shed light on any specific troubleshooting steps tailored to your situation.
