iMessage "syncing paused" error with iCloud

Has there been any resolution to this? While the Status says “Synching paused” it seems all new messages continue to synch across all my Apple devices. Should this message be ignored?

Has anyone tried changing the Keep Messages timeframe? Mine is set to Forever but I have plenty of disk available on my phone and in iCloud. It says I have about 41K messages in the cloud.

Synching paused - Synching with iCloud message is intermittent on my Macbook Pro and it won't let me use iMessage on my Mac computer, but my phone isn't affected. Escalated this issue and working with a Sr. advisor on this. So annoying.

Lots of screen and data capture and testing last night with the Sr. Advisor. Escalated to the investigation team - it can take up to 5 business days to be looked at. We also realized I was never able to send text message with my iMessage which should be resolved once this bug is figured out. I will keep you all updated.

Hi! I just figured out how to fix the "syncing paused" issue.... Open System Settings < [Your Name] Apple ID < iCloud < Locate "Apps Using iCloud" and select 'Show More Apps' < then select Messages in iCloud then 'Staus' and then click 'Sync Now'

It may take a while depending on how many messages you have in cloud but I hope this helps ☺️

Have noticed this too in just the last couple days, have tried all recommended steps. Annoying!

Until the latest Sonoma 14.3 my iMessages were working fine between iPhone 12 - iPad Air 4 and my iMac M1. Now since the last update my iMac will not sync with my iPhone and iPad. Ive tried all the work arounds and no change. Must be a bug in there, Apple?

That's what is meant to happen but it's not happening for me and many others. Hit the Sync button and nothing happens. Disable messages in the cloud and then re enable it and still nothing happens. Resigning to the fact it wont change now until MacOS15 is released, if that does sort it. Who knows?

I've tried all the suggestions here and on other websites and nothing works. Messages in iCloud will not sync on my macbook consistently and will not sync when I try manually. There is a problem here and I suspect Apple will not admit as much until they have a solution.

Looks like Apple has fixed this on the back end. All my devices are no longer showing the “synching paused” message and when I check Settings-ICloud-Messages in iCloud the synch status is up to date.
