What if it's asking to connect with a phone that's not one of mine?

I recognize the name of the person the phone belongs to but it is not one of the devices belonging to my AppleID

iPhone 6, iOS 12

If this is a phone you received from a person, get them to do the things in this support article:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you cannot find that person then there is a good chance the phone may become unusable by you.

If you just lent your phone to a person, they may have downloaded apps onto it. Delete them and redownload them with your ID if you are using them. They are asking to be updated and can only be done so with the ID that downloaded them originally. If this is the case then hope that that was all they did and you don't sudden ly wake up one day to an activation locked device.
