Recycle Apple Watch silicone band

I cannot find any information re: how to recycle used Apple Watch silicone band. Can they be sent to Apple? The local recycling system does not accept silicone, but it can be recycled if sent to the specialized companies.

Apple Watch Series 4, watchOS 9

If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can take it there and Apple will recycle your watch band responsibly for you. Otherwise you can contact Apple Support to see if they can assist you with this. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.

Note that Apple's Trade-in program will not offer anything for the band, only the watch if you were planning on trading it in for a new one ... which, of course, you are not intending to do here.

Thanks for the link and for your information, I indeed called the Apple store closest to me and that's what they said. I believe they might recycle them as part of the trade-in process itself (if you send back the watch), but there is nothing for bands by themselves.

It is a shame, because silicone can be recycled if properly handled. I will try and ask (not sure who) if they will consider this in the future.

Apple Support was not able to assist (they simply told me to ask the sales department and they could not help). I called the Apple Stores nearby to verify, and they are not aware of any recycle programs.

Unfortunately, silicone is a plastic that is not accepted by the local recycling program where I live, but I still would like not to throw it away. Do your local Apple Store recycle them, would you be able to provide me with a phone and address? Maybe I can mail it to them
