iMessage taking lots of storage space

Trying to free up storage space on iPad I followed these steps:

1. Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage > Messages.
2. Listed on this page will be a breakdown of what specifically from Messages should be taking up space.
3. Review specifically Photos, GIFs and Stickers, and Other

I successfully deleted videos that said it was 1.88GB. After deleting and restarting the iPad I don’t see the videos anymore but it still says 1.88GB.
