Contact photos not properly cropping after changes are saved

When I edit a contact photo, and I replace it with a new one and try to crop it, it crops for a few seconds but then reverts back to the original uncropped photo. This is definitely a bug, and it gets really annoying! Is there any way at all to fix this? I would like to actually see the face of the person I’m texting.
