iPhone 15 Pro Max Snow Photos are bad

I had a recent winter trip and some photos taken using my iPhone 15 Pro Max turned out super dark or overly processed. Please see sample below.



any tips on how to avoid this from happening?

Those look great, or certainly in line with what consumers today want, if a bit dark due to the loss of HDR information when posting here; you should certainly be able to edit them to brighten them up a bit if you so desire. Exposure was clearly set to avoid overexposing the bright snow, an issue you'd have even when taking a photo with a professional camera.


If you want less-processed versions you will need to shoot in ProRAW or RAW via a third-party app and process them yourself:
