thankyou for your explanation, but what I mean is when I sent it to WhatsApp chatroom or uploaded it to Instagram. Do you have an idea why it happen? Thankyou

When you upload photos to a 3rd party app such as WhatsApp or Instagram, which are both by the way owned by Meta, they compresses images and videos to reduce file size, which can result in a loss of quality and vibrancy. This has NOTHING to do with your iPhone. You can contact WhatsApp or Insta if you want to complain, but you likely won't get very far. They have always done this with photos uploaded to their platforms.

Uploaded where?

When using third-party drives or cloud storage services (especially free-tier subscriptions), photos and videos from your iPhone may not retain their original resolution or quality. Here's why:

Compression by Default

Many third-party services (like Google Photos, Dropbox, or others) automatically compress your media to save space, particularly under free plans. This can result in:

  • Lower resolution
  • Reduced image detail
  • Artifacts in videos or high-efficiency formats (HEIF/HEVC)

For example:

  • Google Photos (free tier) stores media in "Storage saver" quality by default, which compresses photos and videos.
  • Some lesser-known apps may silently downscale or re-encode your files during upload or backup.
