ProRAW photos change after capture and become dark on iPhone 16 Pro Max

Ok so i took some pictures on my Iphone 16 pro max in pro raw mode, the scene was from nigh time, with Christmas lights, the pictures looked perfect when i viewed them just after capturing them but after some time when i viewed them again, they’ve gone too dark, its so frustrating because i can’t figure out a way to revert them to what they were before and cant be edited back to normal either, is there a fix to this?

Your ProRAW photos turn dark because the iPhone shows a bright temporary preview, then replaces it later with a final Deep Fusion/Smart HDR processed version. The original preview isn’t saved, so you can’t revert to it.

To prevent this: disable Smart HDR, use ProRAW MAX, lock exposure, or use a third-party app that saves unprocessed RAW. Existing photos can still be recovered somewhat by editing the ProRAW files.
