Messages - Syncing paused on my MacBook Pro

In the messages app, bottom left hand corner on Mac Book pro says "syncing paused"

Could someone please help me sync messages for Mac book pro.

I have gone through settings on both devices. Activated iMessage on phone. Logged in and out of iCloud. Shut down both devices. Im still learning the Mac book pro. I know I'm missing a step I just can't think of it.
