Apple Music Using Too Much Storage

So according to Apple, using Loseless audio quality for your music uses about 10GB for every 1000 songs. This is officially stated in the settings for Apple Music.

I have about 2000 songs downloaded, using the Loseless audio quality, yet Apple Music uses about 60+GB of storage. How does this make any sense?

Apple music downloads lossless, very low quality I've been using Apple music to supplement my music collection for years when people make requests at bars if i don't have the song. It's been fine, if a little clunky, but the files I've been getting lately are significant smaller in size and are noticeably lower quality.
