Help! Itunes phasing out means my phone is undiscoverable anywhere

I like to download cds on my desktop (windows) and then move them to my iPhone and now that Itunes is phasing out, there isn't even an option for locating a device in the File dropdown. My playlists are present in Apple Music for Windows but since I'm not a subscriber, there's no way to discover my phone there either. My account is properly linked on both and all of my apps and devices are rebooted and up to date. There isn't any insights in Itunes preferences or in Apple Music settings either. This is even more so concerning because I download backups to my external hard drive and with not having my phone discovered on either, I don't know how I will be able to keep up with that. I will note that my computer recognizes my phone. Anyone else having this problem and if so how are you handling it?

Reports of the demise of iTunes for Windows have been somewhat exaggerated, by both Apple and Microsoft. If you're using the Apple Music for Windows Preview app it basically cripples iTunes. You're supposed to use the Apple Devices Preview app https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NP83LWLPZ9K from the Microsoft Store for device management. Personally I would uninstall Apple Music and stick with iTunes. Use this link to reinstall if needed:

the option for itunes discovery is gone. Plus this below is what my Apple Music looks like on Windows... since I don't have a subscription it just shows the music i downloaded from cds as my playlists on my computer... no device to be discovered there. It's like the option is gone from both apps so how can I even do anything with my phone on Windows when it comes to music now?
