Minecraft won't open on my Macbook Air

Hello all!

I had a Macbook air from 2014 which was getting slow and wouldn't allow my minecraft launcher to even open anymore- so I decided it was time to get a new macbook air anyway.

However, on my 2022 Macbook Air I recently got, when I downloaded the minecraft launcher again- and now it is in my applications, whenever I try to open it an empty system settings bubble pops up.

I tried deleting the launcher and redownloading it- but the same thing happened.

Does anyone have any suggestions to how to fix this?
