How to stop apps from opening automatically on MacBook Air restart?

Helloo, just a curious question,

When I turn off my MacBook and then restart it, all apps just open and a lot of windows just open out of nowhere. Is this normal ?

Apps launching when turning Mac on Hi everyone, I have issues with apps always launching when I turn my Mac on, even though I specifically unchecked the option "launch when turning Mac on" on each of the apps. Apps concerned include Libre office, WhatsApp, Joplin, Spotify, Mails... Some of these apps always launch, some others only occasionally. Clearly there is something I must be missing. Why do apps automatically open on my iMac screen while turning on? This is tedious for me because I don't like to see anything on the screen when I start using my computer, but applications automatically open on my screen when I turn it on. I always close all the applications I have used before turning off my computer, but the applications always open when I turn it on. Has anyone had this problem before or can anyone help me solve it? Installing Apps On Mac Never Finishes Hello, I have been having this issue for some time on my Macbook (Pro, 2021, 14 inch, m1 pro chip). When I start installing an app from the App Store, it first starts normally, but even after 1-2 days it still looks like its installing. The progress bar says 175.9mb of 175.9mb is complete. I have tried to restart my mac but it doesn't let me restart because there is an app install in progress. It looks like I need to restart the mac to solve this but since it still looks like the install is in progress, it doesn't let me restart (I had this issue both while using MacOS Ventura and now Sonoma). How do I solve this? Can anyone help?

When you shut down your Mac, you should see the following window:

Make sure "Reopen windows when logging back in" is turned off.
