where is the Activity Indicator
I keep trying to quit iMovie but I keep getting this message
what I want to know is where is the activity indicator toolbar? and how can I access it?
does anyone see it?

actually I just used command, option and esc. to finally close it.

You force quit by clicking on the Apple logo in the top left of your iMovie project screen. Then select Force Quit iMovie from the drop down menu.
Or, you can simply shut down your Mac and restart.
The progress activity wheel will not display unless there is actual activity going on.

can't see it and can't force quit either.
The Activity Monitor is the tiny circular pie chart at the top right of the iMovie interface.
If you click it a window opens with more information.
In my example you can see that it is almost a quarter the way through exporting a short movie and there is about one minute left.
You can stop the operation by clicking the X at the right hand side of the window.
In your case it appears that iMovie was having problems and the AM did not appear so in that case you have to Force Quit as Rich suggested.
Just force quit iMovie.
