DisplayLink/OWC GODOCK combination causing repeated reboot

I have a Macbook M3 Pro and wanted to have dual monitors in my home studio. I installed the OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock with the USB-C Dual HDMI adapter. The system runs fine for up to five minutes then reboots and gives an error log. I have deleted and reinstalled DisplayLink Manager to no effect.

If the adapter is plugged directly into the MacBook I don't seem to get the issue .

The adapter and dock combination works well on a Microsoft Surfacebook.

Why are you using DisplayLink software with an OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock?

A MacBook Pro with a M3 Pro or M3 Max chip can drive at least two 4K monitors using first-class hardware video output, and you would be able to attach two of them through this dock. No DisplayLink software required or desirable.

A MacBook Pro with a base M3 chip cannot drive multiple monitors. The DisplayLink workaround depends upon having an external "stunt box" with a DisplayLink chip set. This dock does not have that chip set, and thus when you installed the driver, there would be no "stunt box" for the driver to talk to.

Great comment about it SHOULD be able to handle the two monitors. I have attempted to attach the monitors via HDMI - USBC to the thunderbolt ports and the MacBook M3 Pro did not recognize the monitors. I acknowledge my monitors are LG monitors that are 5 years old. They have DB9 video and HDMI output connectors so maybe new monitors would do better? It would be an expensive experiment.

OWC has been responsive on the Go Dock but not helpful. They directed the purchase of the display adapter which SHOULD have allowed the set-up to work but led to the reboot cycling. I can plug the Display Link adapter into the Macbook and the Go Dock to get the USB-B connections I need and the system works. Alternatively, I can plug the monitors directly into the MacBook and get dual display and use the Go Dock in the third thunderbolt port. It's just a lot of pluggin' and unpluggin'
