iPhone 14 Plus zoom button not showing in portrait mode (options have not been disabled)

Before I continue, no I have not disabled zoom options in my settings and yes I am able to zoom in all other modes. For some reason that 0.5x 1.0x etc button is not appearing in portrait mode, and zooming with my fingers is not an option. It is there in regular camera mode it’s there in video mode etc but when I switch to portrait mode it is not there it’s been extremely frustrating I’ve had the phone for about a year and am currently tuning the newest updated iOS as of yesterday. Dec 28th 2023. And I have never been able to zoom in portrait mode yet my sister with the iPhone model generation before me is able to in portrait mode. For me the option doesn’t even exist. Is this with all 14plus or just me? Please help as portrait mode takes the best photos out of the gate but I really would like to have a zoom option.
