FaceTime Self-View Window Stays Large

During my FaceTime video calls my self-view window automatically changes its size to a large window and won’t return to its smaller size. My FaceTime self-view window is currently taking up a quarter (+/-) of my screen during video calls.

In more detail, while I’m in a FaceTime video call my initial screen has the other persons video displayed, the FaceTime in-call settings appear (audio, camera, SharePlay, end call), and an enlarged self-view window appears. After a few seconds without touching the screen the FaceTime in-call settings will disappear and the self-view becomes a smaller window in the corner. HOWEVER, if I touch the screen to make the settings and self view reappear as the did initially, or if the person on the other end of the video call changes the orientation of their phone, or if I switch to another app and switch back to FaceTime, my self-view window will not return to the smaller window it was before. It stays on my screen as the larger self-view window after the in-call settings disappear again.

I’ve tried toggling zoom settings in accessibility, the camera settings, the FaceTime automatic prominence setting, and the FaceTime in-call settings, but nothing works.

Please help!!!!!!!

FOUND A FIX!

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and had the same issue. Annoying how much screen real estate my self image took up.

To fix, I hung up, reset my phone (volume up, down, held down power button until the Apple logo appeared), then called back. My self image went back to the normal tiny image. Hope this works for you guys!

I have been having the exact same issue the past few days and I also have no idea how to fix it. If I flip the camera it my self-view window goes back to its normal state, but in order to change it back to facing me, I must click on the screen to see the facetime settings and flip the camera back, but then the self-view remains large again. That's the only thing I've found that could possibly be relevant, everything else I've tried hasn't done anything to help.
