wearing makeup wont let my face unlock ph

Trying to set up Face ID & it would NOT UNLOCK phone, so I took makeup off & set up. It won’t open phone with makeup on what can I do ,I wear makeup

iPhone 11, iOS 16

Set up Face ID or add an alternate appearance

To set up an additional appearance for Face ID to recognize, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Set Up an Alternate Appearance, then follow the onscreen instructions.

The alternate ID doesn’t work either. This is a huge issue that started way back on the release of IOS 16. Not having access to banking apps is a big problem.
