I found that AirTag did not update the location information as mentioned.

When I am walking in the night market where are about 200 people around and for sure there are people using iPhone and my wife is also using an iPhone with find my network enabled, and the airtag is in the beg with her.

At some point she walked far away from me, and I try to locate her with Airtag, and the airtag did not update location for about 30 min time.

This situation doesn't seems to match the explanation given above?

Well, one possible reason may be:

The AirTag's Bluetooth beacon transmits once every 3-5 mins. The iPhone, within Bluetooth range of it, requires an active Internet connection to relay the tag's information to the Apple servers over the Internet. That is where you would "see" its location (actually the iPhone that relayed its location) with the Find My app on your iPhone.

As you can see, there is a lot of "magic" that needs to happen for this to work properly & timely. These tags are not designed to be used for tracking (what your "experiment" is doing is actually testing its tracking ability). They are designed for locating a lost or misplaced item ... which, in theory, would not change locations.

However, regardless of all that, the issue may be that you just happen to have a defective tag.
