"error opening page hotspot login cannot open the page because the network connection was lost" - please help!!

i'm staying at a hotel for a few days and I was connected to the wifi yesterday but today it is giving me this error message everytime I try to connect my iphone 12 max pro to the internet. My macbook is currently connected and working just fine. I've tried everything I can think of - restarting my phone, forgetting the network, reseting network settings, and nothing is working. It's starting to make me feel crazy and I just want it fixed if anyone has any advice or anything it would be greatly appreciated!
