How do I know if my iPhone is being tracked?

The location of your phone is displayed with Find My if the phone has power and an Internet connection.

If you don't want your phone displayed on a map in case it is lost or stolen, turn off Find My. However.....If you do this, you won't ever be able to find the phone again if it is lost or stolen of course.

The only people who should be able to track you directly with Find My iPhone are

• Yourself
• People with whom you have chosen to share your location .

This assumes that you are not sharing Apple IDs and that you are keeping your Apple IDs and password secure. If, for instance, some third party knows your Apple ID and Apple ID password, they could log in as you, and track you using the Web interface to Find My.

Even if you turn off Find My, the phone companies will track the location of your iPhone whenever it is turned on.

That's how cellular phone service works. The phone companies don't wait until someone calls you – then send radio signals to every town, city, and rural area in America or in the world. The phone company networks track where they've seen your phone, so that they only have to broadcast signals there.
