Finder not recognizing my iphone, and I have updated the software on my Mac and on iPhone and restarted both and its still not recognizing the phone.

Since I upgraded to 7.2 or 7.2.1 I have not been able to sync my phone with my iMac. I directly connect my iphone to my computer and it is not recognized by Finder. I have updated both systems with the newest software and restarted both and still does not have my iphone showing. Therefore I am unable to sync my phone with my computer.
