"App Store" app for used Mac Book Air.

I need to get an "App Store" app for my used MacBook Air. I can't find a way to do that. Every answer to my question starts with "Go to the App Store." Please help

The App Store has been a part of the Mac operating system since Mac OS X 10.6.6 (Snow Leopard). It might have been called the Mac App Store at first.

There are a few MacBook Airs so old that they shipped with a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.6.6. If you have one of them, and never upgraded to 10.6.6 or higher, that would explain the absence of the [Mac] App Store.

Hi, thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Community.

Unfortunately, I am not entirely sure I understand what you mean by needing to get an "App Store" app. Do you mean downloading an app from the App Store, is the App Store missing on your MacBook Air, or are you asking something else?

Also would you please provide the following information:

  • Release year of your MacBook Air
  • Software version

I am looking forward to your reply and I'm more than happy to help with your question. I will just need a clearer explanation first. Thanks again for reaching out, I will try my best to get your issue resolved as quick as I can.
