Logitech C920S device detected but no video

My issue seems a bit different from similar posts. Running Mac Studio M2 Max 12/30/64GB/4TB Ventura 13.6.3.

I have plugged this Logitech C920S webcam into the Mac directly (rear USB-A 3.0) port and also through a Dell monitor hub. In both cases, the camera appears correctly System Information:

HD Pro Webcam C920:

  Product ID: 0x0892

  Vendor ID: 0x046d  (Logitech Inc.)

  Version: 0.19

  Serial Number: nnnnnnnn

  Speed: Up to 480 Mb/s

  Location ID: 0x08330000 / 3

  Current Available (mA): 500

  Current Required (mA): 500

  Extra Operating Current (mA): 0

However, no video from the camera is detected in any app I've tried - just a black screen. I've tried Facetime, Photo Booth and Zoom. Facetime times out then reports "No Video. FaceTime has not received any video from the connected camera. Restarting your computer may fix this issue."

I have restarted the computer with the webcam directly connected to the Mac, but this does not fix the problem.

The Logitech C920S Pro does not require special drivers for Mac from what I can tell, so this issue apparently is between the camera itself and the Mac or possibly Ventura. It is a few years old and still listed as current on the Logitech website. Logitech provides no information about this in their FAQ.

All suggestions are welcome and much appreciated, thanks.
