Files not there in my Bin after I have dragged them there

I recentl way working on a PDF document and dragged the wrong file in my Bin . When I had a look in my Bin to recover , the file I dragged in there only a minute ago is not showing ?

The operating system by itself does not automatically remove contents from the Trash in the timeframe that you state. There is a Finder preferences setting that if optionally selected, will clear out the Trash every 30 days. Unless you subconsciously used a shift+cmd+delete keystroke to clear your Trash, I have no explanation for the event.


You can restore that missing file from your Time Machine backup via /Applications/Time Machine, or via the Time Machine menu item "Enter Time Machine."
