I opened pdf file in preview and after changing few tings on it I click on "save " and it just disappeared and I can not find where it was saved. I checked recent items, checked in downloads and other folders in finder but it is nowhere to be found.
i saw somebody else asked this question but didn't get answer.

file was in the folder stored on my desktop and opening it with preview is default.
And in "file" there is no option for "save as" only "save" for documents that's open in preview .
But I did find it in "open recent "

Launch Preview and use its Open Recent... commnd to see if the file shows in the list that results:
Where was the PDF when you opened it..?
1) Check in your Documents folder.
2) Do a Search by name with Finder or Spotlight.
Crazy thing is, to see the Save As... option... you must hold the Option key down when going to the File Menu!
Another method of find the files is to reopen a file and click save as and Finder will take you to the same location. Also, remember YOU have complete control of where you save your data.
