Phone says SOS after installing 17.2.1 update

iOS 17.2.1 update bumped me off cellular network. Now my phone just says SOS. Resetting network settings doesn't help. What has worked for others?

iPhone 5, iOS 8

Hi- yes I took the phone to apple and they determined the SIM card was the issue so they gave me an eSIM. Then I needed to go to Verizon to have the eSIM activated. The Verizon guy said SiM issues were really common with iPhone 13…

If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If no help, contact your cellular provider.

I'm wondering if you were able to resolve this issue. this happened to me and I've contacted my carrier and Apple support reset and forced the update through iTunes and still no luck... Were you able to find/get a solution? If so please share. Thanks
