Mojave to Monterey

Is it possible to install Monterey to a 2015 iMac 27" fusion drive currently running Mojave. I have downloaded the Installassistant.pkg and Monterey appears in the finder, selecting it puts it into the dock. Click on the icon and macOS Monterey setup starts. click on continue brings up the license agreement, click agree brings up select disk to install. Selecting Macintosh HD returns "The update cannot be installed on this computer "

It sounds like you downloaded an updater package, not the installer. The installer is named Install macOS Monterey.

Here are instructions for downloading the full installer: How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Also, there were two different iMac releases in 2015. The Late 2015 models can be upgraded to Monterey; but the Mid 2015 model can only go to Big Sur. Check which model you have.

The earliest 2015 iMac model was not released until May 2015 (it's called a Mid-2015 iMac). If you purchased your iMac in February 2015 you don't have a 2015 model.

While I don't know what you saw in another thread, the Late 2015 iMacs are the earliest iMac models compatible with Monterey. Mid-2015 and earlier iMacs are not compatible with Monterey.

Hi Martin, so I have checked the serial number with Apple checker and they say it is a 2015 and I still have the original invoice/delivery info which gave a delivery date of 02/09-11/2015 and the spec reads exactly the same as all 2015 models ie i5 quad core 3.4ghz turbo boost to 3.8ghz 16gb DDR3 1600mhz memory NVIDIA GEForce GTX775M GPU 27"LCD monitor 1.12TB ssd fusion drive??????????? so if you check the spec for the late 2015 21.5 iMac, mine far exceeds it

Hi Martin, the iMac is the same spec as one I saw on here who made the upgrade but my one was purchased February 2015. I tried the link and I can't get Monterey from the site. I think because I am in Bulgaria the store here comes in Bulgarian language and I don't think its available as I have had problems before and had to resort to using VPN to UK, but my VPN is no longer active. Have now tried various options and it seems the only upgrade I can get is Catalina
