If you can not get the phone to connect to the iMac via USB and use File Transfer? Put an SD card into the Phone and transfer the photos to the SD card. Then remove the SD card from the Phone, put the SD card into your iMac's SD card slot or a USB card reader and import the photos into the iMac's Photos App.

In the past I have used Android File Transfer, > https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ to move photos and files from old flip phones to macOS and it works well.
I haven't tried > https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macdroid-manager-for-android/id1476545828?mt=12, but it looks promising for an App from the Mac App Store.

I cannot do that have a new iMac, see below no card slot,
Sure you can, if you use a USB card reader.
I will just one of these then from Apple Store
That Lighting one from the Apple store will not plug into your iMac.
You need a USB-C corded card reader to plug into your iMac.

Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader — Apple - Apple
As den.thed already told you, "The Apple Lighting to SD Card Reader is for iPhones and iPads, it will not plug into your new iMac."
Lightning is used on some iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, mice, and keyboards. It is not the same thing as USB, USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt 3/4, and a Lightning plug will not fit any of the ports on your 24" Apple Silicon iMac.
Except perhaps for the charging/pairing ports on the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse. The Lightning ports on some Magic Keyboards and Magic Mice are just for charging/pairing, not for plugging in other accessories.
Just about any USB card reader should do. There are many ways to connect a device with a USB-A plug to your iMac, including, but not limited to, USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple , USB-C hubs, and Thunderbolt docks. Thus, while it is useful if a new card reader comes with a USB-C plug, it isn't strictly necessary.
The USB-C to SD Card Reader - Apple that den.thed mentioned has a USB-C plug, and is one of the readers that would work with your iMac.
The SGH-T959V is a Galaxy S 4G.
open > https://www.t-mobile.com/support/public-files/images/samsung/galaxy-s-4g/manual/Galaxy_S_4G_manual.pdf and go to PC Connections starting on page 168.
If you can't establish an USB connection by switching the Phone to Mass Storage and then using Android File Transfer or MacDroid. Then you may be stuck using a SD memory card which is explained on page 50 and page 168.
Oh, yes, did this one too Android File Transfer my phone is SGH-T959V
Done this already, too? Android File Transfer or MacDroid. This is a new iMac, maybe I need to get the dongle with a card reader at one end?
If you can install the Dropbox app on that phone, you can use it to upload its photos to Dropbox and then you can download them to your Mac via Dropbox on the Mac. If the phone is too old for the Dropbox app, maybe another cloud service like Microsoft or Google will work.
Another option is to text or email the photos from the phone.
The Apple Lighting to SD Card Reader is for iPhones and iPads, it will not plug into your new iMac.
What you want, is the USB-C to SD Card Reader - Apple to plug into your 24" iMac.
Here is the link to an article that may help you out.

No, you need the one at > USB-C to SD Card Reader - Apple
Good luck then. My suggestion would be to do some searches on some Samsung forums. Another thought is if the Samsung has the ability to save the photos to a cloud based account then use the Photos app to import the photos from that cloud account.
Tried this already did not work.
that is what I am doing figure here is a better place been on it for 2 hours already
I have tried the Madriod already no luck, will try other one
