Current location on Apple Maps

I have addresses saved in people’s contacts. Is there any way to STOP Apple Maps from finding someone’s current location when typing in their name to get to them (their house, their work etc.)? I type in a name and it takes Apple many minutes to find their current location when in reality I want to get to an address that’s in their contact. This feature is laggy and sometimes times out—it always defaults to directions to a current location. This is a new thing so iOS 17 or later. Help!

How to disable contact location in Apple Maps This has been driving me insane since a recent update. Say I have a contact named John and I want to navigate to his home address. I open up Maps, and start typing John. After the update, it shows me the contact, but it says "Location Just Now and 2 Other Addresses". The vast majority of the time, I'm looking to navigate to that person's home address, not their live location. However, when you click on their contact, it will say "Refreshing Location" which can take some time. I do not want to stop seeing that person's location, I just don't want to have to refresh their live location to navigate to their home. Setting specific location as Home/Work/Other address when no street name is registered on Apple Maps or present at all After so many years and iOS releases, Apple Maps (and Contacts) still does not provide the ability to set a specific, precise location (using GPS coordinates) as Home, or Work, or School, or Other address, when no street name is registered on Apple Maps or when there is no street name at all. (Yes Apple, even users living in the Little House on the Prairie have the right to using Apple Maps and associated features, too.) Problem is magnified if one takes into account that Home/Work location is necessary for crucial features such as Apple HomeKit use, route and time calculation on Apple Maps etc. The planet does not comprise hipster-friendly cities only, but also includes small villages without street names, and even not-so-remote, unnamed locations with properly-built houses where proper people live in. Google Maps allows allocating a specific pinned location as Home/Work address without the rather silly workaround (which does not work properly) of selecting a 'nearby' named street as address (as Apple Maps does). Apple should deal with this annoying issue as soon as possible and allow to add a precise location as address both on Contacts and on Apple Maps.

Apple Maps Guide Guides not showing addresses I've been trying to add a few dozen addresses nearby to the home I've moved to as I make contact with neighbours. I've added about 22, however I can now only rarely add new addresses. After either a cut n' paste of an address from a Contact form OR searching for an address in Maps, it frequently shows "In Your Guides" when I've never added it before! Alternatively, SOME addresses that I know I HAVE added, do NOT show up as named Red Pins on the Map, OR in the specific Guide listing below. It's maddening. I've deleted and re-created the Guide a few times, and always seem to end up with similar results. (it's the same on iPhone 12 Pro & iPad Air 2 which are synced through iCloud). Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what I can do to fix it? Apple, can you help? Tx, W
