I need help to figure out what type of external dvd/cd drive to use my dvd's and cd's I choose the apple slip one but it keeps rejecting my disc. this is not my area of expertise so I need to keep it simple I have a Mac air, version 12.5.1, 18 ghZ dual core. anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated

Most any player should work including the Apple Super Drive. You may need a USB-A to USB-C adapter. Connect directly to your Mac and not through a hub.

No setup was required, but it did need a Disc i it to show in the finder.
In System Report>Hardware>USB, does it show up there?
