2 macOS HD data drives

Hi so I have a macbook pro and I see 2 Data partitions and I want to merge them to one. I don't know why it appears like this but it is annoying.

If you see two, you likely have three, two are orphans and can be removed.

Open Disk Utility and check the drive list for multiple - Data volumes.

There should be the current one listed in the volume group under Macintosh HD. If you select it, you'll see a little house badge on the icon in the info pane.

If you select the others, they won't have a home badge and will show a mount point at /Volumes.

The Data volumes get orphaned when you reinstall macOS and fail to remove the previous Volume group.
