iPhone not syncing over WiFi
I have a MacBook Air (MBA) M1, running MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2, and an iPhone 13 Pro, running iOS 17.2.1 (i.e. the latest versions) and would like to sync the iPhone over WiFi, without connecting it with a cable.
To set up the sync, I followed the instructions given here:
Sync content between your Mac and iPhone, iPad or iPod touch over Wi-Fi – Apple Support (UK)
After following those instructions, the problem is that the iPhone DOES NOT appear in the Finder sidebar when both the MBA and the iPhone are connected to the same WiFi network.
Further information.
- The iPhone does not appear in the sidebar, but appears as an available "personal hotspot" when I click on the WiFi icon in the menu bar:
- on the MBA, LittleSnitch is running. When I plugged the iPhone, a pop-up appeared asking to authorize AMPDevicesAgent to connect (I said yes). AMPDevicesAgent should be responsible of syncing the iPhone over WiFi (https://macreports.com/ampdevicesagent-what-is-it)
- If I connect the iPhone using a cable, the option "Show this iPhone when on Wi-Fi" is enabled:
- The MBA is managed (inTune)
Any suggestions?
