Canon MP270 scanner and Sonoma

Hi - my Canon scanner (MP270) isn't working with Sonoma. I've tried adding through Printers and scanners settings but the dialogue box says Apple doesn't support this scanner and to select a driver. Any advice for a free option preferably.

I'm on an iMac. Thank you

Hi,

If suitable software from Canon cannot be found, and in case of a problem with the scanner section only, you may want to test a paid third-party product (trial version available):

The latest Canon printer drivers appear to be for macOS 10.12 Sierra:

One should perhaps not rule out that these drivers can be used with a few later operating system versions as well, but do not expect this to be the case.

With a compatible ICA driver, it may also be possible to use Apple's Image Capture for scanning.
