transferred iTunes to new laptop, but only Apple purchased items kept. how do i login to iTunes to access library with rest of my music and get it to my laptop? My iPhone transfer seems to have kept all my music - bought and manually added.

This is unexpected, at least to me. You can manually copy the entire music folder from 1 computer to the other which will transfer all your music. But I don’t recall having to do that when I moved from my 2015 MBA to my 2023 MBA.
How did you perform the transfer? If you used migration assistant to transfer from the old computer to the new everything should have transferred. If, however, you transferred music from your iPhone to the computer then only the music purchased from Apple would have transferred.
I used the migration assistant but it didn’t transfer the non purchased things. I was hoping I could get on the laptop and log onto iTunes via Safari and get access to entire library - which I know is there as most transferred onto the new iPhone from the old one - and yes it was an expensive visit to the store!
I’ll try to login to iTunes not via the app, but it’s now Apple Music so not sure if that’s changed things. May contact Apple support. Thanks for you thoughts
