Has anyone else tried creating a custom style on Apple TV (in my case, with yellow subtitles instead of white), but only some of the custom style setting(s) get applied? I can't get the color to change, no matter what I do. I'm on the current TVOS version (17.2). The yellow subtitles used to work on my older (2nd gen) Apple TV unit, but not on the new (3rd gen) one.

There is a style option to allow content styles (if defined in the stream) to override custom styles. Try toggling that.
My 2nd gen Apple TV 4K is displaying yellow captions for the default “transparency” style in 17.2. I’d rather they be white like in the sample text, but for some reason they are yellow.
Thanks, but that's actually the opposite of what I'm trying to do. It used to work (at least for me, on the 2nd gen Apple TV) as expected: I created a style, and it was implemented everywhere. Now, that seems to be impossible to achieve. Did someone bork the features in the latest TVOS, or is it a hardware problem? That is the mystery.
