why do i have 2 phones in my icloud backup? How can I remain 1 folder backup?

Currently, I am switching my data from my old phone to a new phone (same provider), but there are 2 backup folders. My storage is full, there are 2 backups one is an old phone back up the other is a new phone backup. The new phone backup is not complete, the reason of storage is full. If I delete the old phone backup will all my data in my current new phone be lost? Or the data still will remain in my new phone after deleting the old backup folder from there I can do my backup again to the new phone data folder?

Where are your backups? iCloud or iTunes/Finder?

Where the Storage is full?

Why do you want to delete the backups?

You may get better and prompt responses if you may kindly provide the iPhone Model that you have and the iOS version if it is known to you and re-post.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.

Thank you for your response. Now I'm using iPhone 15, since I converted all my data from iPhone 7 to iPhone 15 and I found dual backup ended up with my iCloud backup storage being full and I can't back up my latest data from iPhone 15.

As I know usually backup files will be overwritten and keep the latest backup but this round has 2 backup files.
