apple watch is stuck on logo

Upgraded iPhone 14 pro to software 17.2.1 overnight. next morning apple watch Ultra worked fine but after 2-3 hours I noticed it was on the apple logo. I did a hard reset and it comes up to the logo and stays there. I unpaired it from the phone and tried to pair it again with the same result, stuck on logo. this has been going on for days and I noticed sometimes there would be a photo on the watch like it was working again, but when I try to do anything it goes back to the logo.
