I need a new printer that will be compatible with new iMac with M3 chip.

I need a new printer that will be compatible with new iMac with M3 chip. I run Sonoma 14.2.1 Anyone got a suggestion? I have been reading really terrible reviews about printers and I am not interested in poor quality. The workload is that of a home office used for personal use. I am retired.

Look for a printer that is AirPrint-compatible.

My impression is that printer manufacturers often fail to keep their printer drivers up-to-date with changes in the operating system. If you're depending on updated printer drivers being available on the manufacturer's site, you might find one day that they've decided not to support your printer any more – even though it is still working.

AirPrint builds some stuff into printers so that the Mac does not need a separate printer driver.
