arrow on imac not responding to the wireless mouse

This happens after computer has not been used for several minutes or even asleep for a while. It has done it four or five times. At first it would correct after force shutting down and restarting the computer, but this last time I had to shut down three times before it began to work. The mouse was charged @ 75%. When not working the arrow is in the upper left corner.
