Macbook pro startup with 'encountered an error- press any key' and now my screen is totally black

I am a brand new Mac user. My computer has been fine for weeks, but 3 day ago I was moving my mouse around in the screen saver controls are; when my screen suddenly went black. Ever sine then I have never been able to boot up with a normal screen. I saw a 'Your Computer encountered an exception error and was shut dowh, etc.. please hit any key'. I did this but nothing has changed. I now my mac is running but the screen stays either totally black or will eboot with a murky dark gray green with baely any light in the screen. Please help.

you do not say what exact Mac is this...?

brand new mac user, is this a brand new Mac? Take it back and exchange for one that works as expected out of the box.

I apologize for the lack of information, It is a 2021 MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.1 with a Mac chipset. It is not new, it was used && it was given to me as a gift in 2021' I had been a lifelong Windows PC / Dell laptops user. It worked fine when it a was given to me. I then stored it responsibly at home and never even turned it back on until about 3 mos. ago. And it has been working perfectly until about 4 days ago when the [above mentioned] happened.
